May apo na ako!

Hello!!

This week was so great!! Super busy and crazy here in Quirino and our schedule is NEVER regular, but it is so fun!!! Because we never get to work in our area, Sister Osumo and I decided to go on splits yesterday so we could get more work done, even though I did not know the area at all!!! Thank heavens Sister Maricelle, one of the ward missionaries is so sweet and keeps tabs on ALLLLL of our investigators so she was able to lead me around!!:)

May apo na ako!! I am a Grandma!! My anak, Sister Valdez, is training and my apo got to stay in our house this whole week until they got their flights to Mindoro!! I also got another anak!! Sister Osumo and I got to train the CUTEST missionary in the whole world! Her name is Sister Dahildahil and she got assigned to one of the areas in Mindoro. While she waited for her flight, Sister Osumo and I got to be her trainers! It was so fun and I LOVE new missionaries!!

This Saturday is the baptism of Jenny, who is the helper The Taylor's, a member family from Kaysville, Utah. She is not getting baptized here because she wants her family to see her example, so she is going back to the province. She is such an amazing woman though and I am sooo excited for her!!

I love you all!!! Keep all the missionaries in your prayers!!

The Time Where I got Dengue

March 23, 2015

Hello!!!

Well, last week was an adventure!! You may have recalled that last week I did not fly to Mindoro like I was supposed to... And that is because I got Dengue! Yes, it is true.. But I conquered it!! It was not really fun though... I had a fever that lasted over a week, extreme body aches, my hands and feet swelled up like balloons, and my whole body was COVERED in rashes. I was at the hospital almost everyday getting blood tests, but don't worry- the mission took GREAT care of me!!! I also received a beautiful priesthood blessing and I know that it was because of that, I was got better.

I was sooo tired last week due to the Dengue as well as all the work that had to be done in the office. Sister Osumo and I, along with the Assistants worked hard on some new projects for the mission, one of which is called, "The Special 2", to help each companionship reach the goal of at least 2 baptisms ever month. We also got to give workshops in the Pasig Zone Interviews, and I had the opportunity to go on exchanges in Sumulong with Sister Rafique who is from Pakistan. It was quite the week!!

On Sunday, Sister Verdeflor came back from Mindoro and it was so great to be back with my companion! We headed to Pasig chapel and 7 of our investigators came to church- Cristina, Crisitine, Gina, Adrain, Gladys, Glyssa, And Karen!! I was so sad Ana Mae couldn't make it though because of work. It really was AMAZING though!! After the 3 hour block, we had the BAPTISM of Gladys Bedija (14 yrs old)!! All of the youth did AMAZING at supporting her and they are the ones who did the whole program! Gladys was so cute and she really appreciated the support from everyone. It was so neat to be able to see the changes with Gladys- she used to never read her assignments that we would give her in the Book of Mormon, and she would only come to church on and off. Her parents are less active and her older sister, Glyden (active), would always encourage her and help her to keep her commitments. It took a while and a lot of work, but she finally started reading the Book of Mormon, and as she did, the change within her was REAL. She really did experience "a mighty change of heart". As Gladys stood up and bore her testimony at her baptism, tears came to her eyes as she said that she knows the church is true and that she knows without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true. I felt the Spirit so strongly and my love for the gospel and my Savior grew. Now we are working on her younger sister, Glyssa, to help prepare her for baptism in April!

Well... Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways. I guess he knew that I needed a week of preparation in Cubao last week... I am getting transferred to Cubao and Sister Osumo is my new companion!! We will be working in the office and have a whole lot of responsibilities!!! I still will have an area to work in, but with all the work in the office and going on exchanges with all the Sisters, there won't be too much time. I am determined to help it progress though, just like Pasig.

I am going to miss Pasig soooooooooo much! Ah, they are literally the BEST ward ever! When I told the members I was leaving, they decided to throw a final FHE at the Feralles home for me!! They are so cute! We even had three of our investigators there- Adrian, Crsitina, and Karen!! I am so excited for my fam to meet all of these great people! The ward is already requesting that you bring some chocolate when we all go to church in Pasig when you come and pick me up! And one of the Sisters wants Lion House rolls because she served at Temple Square;)

As for Karen... She is getting MARRIED and BAPTIZED on Saturday!!!! I am soooo sad I will not be there, but I will ask President for special permission to attend.

Grabe, I just love my area  here in Pasig sooo much and I cannot believe that my time is up . I remember that when I first came here, Sister Ramos told me that all the STLs have said that it is impossible to get your area to progress when you are always on exchanges. I didn't believe that to be true and I was determined to prove that theory a myth. Sister Ramos and I worked and worked last transfer, as did Sister Verdeflor and I this transfer. I really relied on the Lord that he would bless our area while we were gone, and when we were there, we did our best. And that is when miracles happened! We now have 2 baptisms for March and 3 for April. I literally have been blessed so much in this area and have been changed for the better.

Well, time is about up!! Thanks for all of the prayers you send my way because they have made miracles. Mahal na mahal ko kayo!!

Change of Plans

3-15-15

Magandang Hapon!!

Whelp... I was supposed to fly to Mindoro this morning, but a change of plans happened! I am still here in the Mainland! My companion, Sister Verdeflor, left for Mindoro this morning with one of the other Sister Training Leaders, Sister Dudas, and so now I am companions with her companion, Sister Osumo for this whole week! I love Sister Osumo! We were kabahays last transfer in Pasig, and so it is so fun being back with her! Their companionship are in charge of a whole bunch of stuff in the office, so I will get a little taste of an office missionary life. We also have Zone Interviews tomorrow so that will be fun to prepare for today!!

As for our investigators, Sister Gladys Bedija is getting baptized on Sunday!!! And Karen is getting married and baptized on the 28th!! Hopefully I will still be in Pasig becuse transfers are next week!!!

All of our other investigators are doing great. We taught Adrian at the church on Saturday, and we watched the Restoration movie with Bishop Arellano and some of the YSAs. Adrian has had so many questions, but today he said that he knows that the church is true!! Ahhhhh it was AMAZING! And he accepted a baptismal date for April 18th. Ana Mae is also doing great and LOVES the gospel! She too will be baptized next month. The gospel is just so perfect and is the answer to all problems, challenges, and concerns.

I love serving the Lord. Every week is filled with challenges, miracles, and changes of plan. I just have such a strong testimony that everything that happens is to help me to improve myself and to prepare me for future trials, as well as to help others who are longing to experience the peace that comes through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Mahal na mahal ko kayo. Maraming salamat sa panalangin ninyo, at nararamdaman ko ang pagmamahal ninyo araw araw. Ingat kayo palagi.

Love,

Sister Anderson

PS- Guess what I did this week? I finally tried chicken feet and it was soooo yummy!! I recommend that you all try it! Filipinos can just make ANYTHING taste scrumptious!! I will send pics next week!! It will be on Tuesday though because it is transfer week!!:)

And They Just Keep Coming!

March 8, 2015

Magandang Tengahali!!!

Hope all is well back on the home front, and hopefully the you are all helping the Lord Hasten His great work! Man, this work is just going fast here and the miracles just keep coming!!

I had the chance this week to go on 2 exchanges this week. The first one was with Sister Alfoja- yes, Sister ALFOJA!! My second companion here in the field!! It was an absolute blast to work with her and I could just see how much I've changed since my third and fourth transfer with her. She is amazing! My second exchange was with Sister Devi. She grew up in Fiji, but she is INDIAN!! You have no idea how excited that made me! I love being able to go on exchanges with these great sisters because I really feel like I can relate with them and give them the advice and encouragement I would have liked to receive when I was going through the same things as them- especially the foreign missionaries with the language struggle. It is such a blessing that Heavenly Father uses our personal trials to be able to help others overcome theirs.

As for our area here in Pasig... MIRACLES JUST KEEP COMING!!!! WOW!! We didn't get to work a whole lot in our area this week, and yet we were led to AMAZING people who are sooo ready to accept the gospel, one of which is named Mary Rose. She is a referral who has a boyfriend who is a member in Vegas, and she went to church last week in Cubao. We met and taught her for the first time this week, and she accepted a baptismal date and said she will come to church every week! We also visited for the second time one of the other referrals, Ana Mae, who is GOLDEN. She is 24 and when we got to her house yesterday morning to teach her, the first question out of her mouth was, "When is my baptismal date again? I am so excited!" She attended church yesterday for the first time and LOVED it! The fellowshipping was great and there is no doubt she will be baptized! These Golden investigators just keep coming!

As for Karen, they are still waiting for their marriage papers to be processed.. Sayang!! We are really hoping for March 28th for their marriage and baptism!!

Being a missionary is the BEST! I am enjoying EVERY moment of it! Hopefully time slows down a little bit, because there is just so much to be done here!!

I love you all! Keep helping the Lord Hasten His work!!

Sister Anderson

PS- Sister Verdeflor and I will be flying to MINDORO next Monday! Hopefully I will get a chance to email, but if I don't, no need to worry!!!:) Love you!
Sister Revillo and the other sister training leaders:)  My comp is on the far right!

The Work Never Ends!

3-2-15
Hello to all yal!!
This week has been CRAZY busy!!! The Sister Training Leaders had the opportunity to give another role play in Zone Interviews this week. WE got to attend 2 of them at Aurora chapel, and will be presenting two more next week. It has been so fun to work alongside all of these sisters and the best part was our giant sleepover we got to have last Monday night! Wahoo!!

I also had the opportunity to go on exchanges with two other companionships- the first was Sister Passey from Indiana, and the second was my cute kabahay, Sister Liguayan. I was able to have Sister Liguayan work with me in my area that day and because we had not been able to work in our area all week, we were literally RUNNING from appointment to appointment. It was INSANE!! But so fun too! The work just never ends!! We had an opportunity that day to teach the Live-In Partner (Filipina) of an Australian member. WE taught our lessons in English and it was SOOOOOO hard. HOLY MOLY. Tagalog na lang! Haha the gift of tongues is real!

Karen is also doing amazing!! We taught her and John Ray at the Feralles home last week and had such a powerful lesson about tithing and fasting. Man, she is absolutely GOLDEN and makes my job as a missionary so easy. I just LOVE her!! It is amazing to see the changes that the gospel has on people.

As for our other investigators, they are doing great! Heavenly Father is working miracles! We had 5 investigators at church yesterday, and 11 less actives! Even when Sister Verdeflor and I aren't working in our area, Heavenly Father continues to nourish it!! Cristina, one of our other really progressing investigators is doing awesome!!! We just need to get her married too! Haha I feel like Cupid trying to get these marriages figured out. Bishop talked to Cristina at church yesterday because she is really progressing and he said that he will try to figure out a way to help get them married because they are struggling getting their marriage papers together. Continue to keep praying for all these AMAZING people!!

Sister Verdeflor and I were also brave this week and battled the mice that are infesting our house! We killed 13 so far and we think there are still more... They joys!! Mom- you would die here. Hahaha

I love life as a missionary! There is nothing better to be serving the Lord!! Special shout out to the Price Family for the AMAZING package they sent me!!! You are the BEST!!!!!!! And a Happy Birthday to Todd Schultz!!!

Love you all!!

Sister Anderson
